A massive explosion at a fertilizer plant on the edge of a small Texas town is feared to have killed several dozen people, wounded hundreds more, and leveled dozens of homes and surrounding building for blocks in every direction.
The explosion occurred at West Fertilizer in West, a community about 20 miles north of Waco, and happened shortly before 8 p.m. The was heard as far away as Waxahachie, 45 miles to the north, shook houses 50 miles away and measured as a 2.1-magnitude seismic event, according to the United States Geological Survey.
